Age of Conan reaches one million copies shipped milestone.

Games for Windows® title Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures™ has shipped one million copies in less than three weeks, making this massively multiplayer online game one of the biggest gaming hits of 2008. Developer Funcom also announced that Age of Conan has topped sales charts in the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom for the past several weeks.

“Sales data shows that Age of Conan is the biggest MMO launch since World of Warcraft,” said Morten Larssen, Funcom Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We are very proud to be one of the fastest selling PC games ever in a launch month, and the biggest simultaneous Europe/US massively multiplayer online game launch in history.”

Set in violent and exotic Hyboria, players can join thousands of friends to explore an online world of cruel gods, mythical creatures, and lost civilizations. The game features fast-paced, real time combat, an engaging storyline based on the writings of Robert E Howard, and amazing graphics that take full advantage of Direct X®10 and Windows Vista®. Age of Conan has also received critical acclaim from top gaming review sites. “Age of Conan has raised the bar,” according to GameZone, while GameSpot described Age of Conan as “one of the finest online RPGs available.”
