You can use an existing account to sign in to Games for Windows – LIVE if you've signed up for one of the following:
- Xbox Live on Xbox 360
- Xbox.com
- Games for Windows – LIVE
- Zune Marketplace
Note
If you never migrated your Xbox Live account on original Xbox to Xbox 360 or Xbox.com, you need to migrate your account before signing into LIVE. You can do this by recovering your gamertag on an Xbox 360 console, or registering on Xbox.com. During either process, you'll be asked to associate your gamertag with a Windows Live ID. Once you've done that, you can use that Windows Live ID to sign in to Games for Windows – LIVE.
To sign in to Games for Windows – LIVE with an existing account:
- On your PC, start your game, and then press the Guide button (center round button) on your controller or the Home key on your keyboard to open the LIVE Guide.
- If there are no profiles on the PC, click Use Existing LIVE Profile. If there are, click Sign In, and then click Sign In with Another Account.
- Type your Windows Live ID and password, and then click Sign In.
Caution
Don't close the game while your profile is loading. If you have played a lot of games, your LIVE profile contains large amounts of information and may take a while to download.
